The Person Behind the Camera

The Story

The Film Perspective started in 2014 when I decided to turn what I loved into what I did for a living.

I'm Aaron Markham — a U.S. Army veteran, a filmmaker, and the founder and sole operator of The Film Perspective. After my time in the service, I picked up a camera and started telling stories. What began as a part-time hobby quickly became a full-time calling. Over the past decade-plus, I've filmed hundreds of weddings, dozens of corporate projects, commercials, concerts, and events across the St. Louis metro.

Along the way, I've earned a spot in The Knot's Hall of Fame, won Best of Weddings five years running, and built a reputation for work that's professional, creative, and personal. When you hire The Film Perspective, you don't get handed off to a junior shooter or an account manager. You get me — the same person you spoke with on the phone, the same person who shows up with the gear, and the same person who edits your final product.

I believe every business and every couple has a story worth capturing. My job is to make that story look and sound as good as it deserves to.

What I Bring to Every Project:

  • Over a decade of professional video production experience
  • Cinema-grade cameras, professional audio, lighting, stabilization, and drone capability
  • A cinematic eye shaped by a lifelong love of film
  • The discipline and reliability that comes from military service
  • A commitment to treating every client's project like it's the most important one on my calendar — because to them, it is
